On this day in football history 1925 Rangers signed Dougie Gray from Aberdeen junior side. He became one of the finest right backs in Scottish football and spent his entire senior career with the Ibrox team. When the war broke out in 1939 he had played in 485 Scottish League matches, won 10 League championship medals, 6 Scottish Cups and 8 international caps. Retired from the playing side during the War. 1935 Peter Shevlin transferred to Albion Rovers from Hamilton Academicals. On his day a brilliant goalkeeper, he took over as successor to Charlie Shaw for Celtic in 1924, won a Scottish Cup medal at the end of his first season and a League Championship one at the end of his second. Moved to South Shields then in the Third North in 1927 and two years later joined Nelson, also a League club at that time. Remained with the club when they lost their League status in 1931 and returned to Scotland to sign for Hamilton in 1933. Missed the 1935 Scottish Cup Final through injury. Appeared in 2...
